Revealing the super-exciting first wave of scheduled performers, MTV has announced plans for Chris Brown. Adele and Lil Wayne to hit the stage at the 2011 VMAs.

Making his much-anticipated return to the Nokia Theater spotlight, Chris, who has
multiple Moonmen nominations for his 'Look at Me Know' clip, is set to be front and center at this year's show, which is slated for August 28.

'I am excited about my nominations and to be back on the VMA stage. I have a special performance planned for my wonderful fans,' Brown told in a statement.

Lending his rapping skills to the long-running awards ceremony is 'How to Love' singer Lil Wayne, who is also pretty stoked about the upcoming performance, as he explained, 'Being a nominee and performer on the VMAs once again is an honor because everyone doesn't get that opportunity.'

Offering up some female prowess to the lineup is British vocal powerhouse Adele, who is up for a whopping seven nods on her fest ever try at a Moonman.

As for whether an all-star tribute to another Brit phenom, the late Amy Winehouse, is in the works remains unknown, as MTV exec Amy Doyle told Billboard, “We don’t know yet. But certainly she is top of mind, in our thoughts and in our hearts.'
