Johnny Depp is usually money in the box office bank when it comes to making movies! He's had countless blockbusters likes Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland and Edward Scissorhands!
So what went wrong with The Lone Ranger?
Just as we suspected, Johnny doesn't really care!
He's standing by his western remake no matter what! Even if ticket sales are less than stellar. (Srsly though, most theaters showing this flick are so empty, they have tumbleweeds blowing through them!)
The UK got their chance this week to see Johnny and Armie Hammer up on the big screen together, and that's when the Tonto trouper got asked why he thought the film was failing. Johnny said:
"I don't have no expectations. But other people do. I think critics were especially upset that it didn't REALLY tank. You know what I mean? I think they were hoping that it would really take a dive."
Even though The Lone Ranger will be hitting a lot more theaters around
the globe now, we're still not so sure they can make up the money they spent on this flick! We hear Disney stands to lose more than $160 million on the movie!
Ouch! That is no good, kemosabe!
But sometimes it's not about the money. It's about the passion, and Johnny clearly had it for this one!

Ahh well, it was fun regardless. But probably not as fun as it would have been to be a fly on the wall of Cipriani this weekend. Because as you can see, that's where lover-boy took Amber Heard for a decadent dinner date after London's Lone Ranger premiere!
Now that they've been spotted together for TWO stops along his international promo tour, do you think we'll be seeing more of them out and about when they get back to El Lay???
We sure hope so! Then again, these heat waves could use a cool-off…

Anyways! We previously reported that Johnny Depp brought Amber Heard and his children along for the ride when he flew to Japan for work on the Lone Ranger promotional tour.

Amber looks completely comfortable in the role of Johnny's girlfriend, as she should be! Johnny John may be one impeccable piece of human gold, but Amber definitely holds her own in the irresistible department!
We're sure he had a great time at the Tokyo premiere (see pics below), but we're even more positive that he couldn't wait to get back with his ladylove and settle in the hotel! ;)

Johnny Depp hasn't been shy about his romance with Amber Heard ever since the two were spotted together at a Rolling Stones concert earlier this year, but now he's publicly showcasing how serious they are by traveling with her AND his kids!!!

Landing to a massive crowd of fans at Tokyo's Narita Narita International Airport, the gang exited the aircraft together before splitting up so Johnny could greet his adoring admirers.

Goodness! We didn't think we could love him any more than we did already, but damn does he know how to raise the bar!!
And helloooo! If you've been a skeptic of the relationship with Amber, it's looking more and more like your battleship is SUNK!! Now they just all need to go to Disneyland together, LOL!!

After a couple big flops, the Lone Ranger star is going back to the well - or in this case, down the rabbit hole - for his next project.
Johnny is reportedly in final discussions with Disney to reprise his Alice In Wonderland role in an upcoming sequel.
Not a bad move considering the first one made a billion dollars worldwide!
Johnny's fave director Tim Burton has already been replaced by Muppets master James Bobin, but it seems the cash draw of the character is too strong to resist.
Between this and Pirates Of The Caribbean 5, it looks like the marriage of Depp and Disney is going to be around for a while.
